Privacy policy

How information is handled across Telakus and its hubs, and how to contact us about your privacy.

Last updated:

1. Scope and responsibility

This Privacy Policy describes personal information handling by Telakus Inc. ("Telakus," "we," "us," or "our") in connection with telakus.com and Telakus-operated hubs and services that link to or expressly adopt this policy. This includes future hubs when they adopt this policy.

Telakus is the technology enablement platform for people who protect and serve. Together with our industry partners, we help bring emerging technology into practice.

A hub or individual service may publish its own privacy notice describing additional or different practices. RetailCrime.ai currently has a hub-specific privacy policy. Read the notice at the service you use alongside this policy; a service-specific notice governs the practices it specifically describes. This policy does not automatically cover independent websites, content publishers, or solution providers merely because Telakus links to them.

2. Information you provide

The information requested depends on the form or service you choose to use.

  • Subscriptions. The subscription form linked from Telakus asks for a work email address and an agreement to receive communications from RetailCrime.ai. The form identifies the subscription as RetailCrime.ai updates.
  • Partner inquiries. The partner application in the Solution Providers guide asks for your full name, work email address, and organization so you can request a meeting with Telakus about becoming a partner.
  • Direct correspondence. If you email us or otherwise contact us, you provide your contact details and whatever information you include in your message.
  • Hub-specific participation. Research surveys, courses, and marketplace services may request additional information. The fields and the applicable service notice determine what is collected; visiting Telakus alone does not establish that you have provided survey responses or course records.

Do not include passwords, financial account details, government identification numbers, or other sensitive personal information in ordinary inquiries unless a specific service expressly requests it for a stated purpose.

3. Technical information and cookies

Opening a webpage sends technical information to the services that deliver it, such as your IP address and browser request information. Telakus pages also make requests to services used to deliver fonts and forms. Depending on your browser settings and the service, those requests can include a referring page address and other browser information.

Cookies and similar technologies can be used by hosting services, embedded forms, or individual hubs. Their behavior depends on the service and your browser settings. Telakus.com does not currently provide a site-wide cookie preference panel. Browser controls are described in Section 10; they are not a substitute for any consent that a service is legally required to obtain.

A hub may use additional usage measurement or interaction tracking described in its own notice. This policy does not represent that all hubs use the same cookies or tracking tools.

4. How information is used

Information is used in connection with the interaction or service for which it is provided, including:

  • Processing a subscription and sending the communications identified in the subscription form.
  • Responding to a partner inquiry, meeting request, support question, or other correspondence.
  • Delivering the content, form, or hub service you request.
  • Fulfilling a request involving a solution provider as described in Section 5.
  • Receiving and handling privacy requests and related correspondence.

Additional uses associated with research, learning, or a hub-specific service are described in the applicable service notice.

5. Partners and information sharing

Solution providers

Consistent with RetailCrime.ai's existing policy, if you actively download a solution provider's whitepaper, request a demonstration, or engage with a specific product listing, your business contact details may be shared with that provider to fulfill your request. These circumstances apply to covered Telakus hub services where those interactions are available. Do not assume that every download or product interaction is anonymous.

A provider that receives your information may handle it under its own privacy notice. Review the notice and disclosures presented with the relevant listing, download, or request. Simply browsing Telakus.com is not one of the provider-sharing circumstances listed above.

Services used to deliver the platform

Form-hosting services receive the information submitted through their forms. Services that deliver pages, fonts, and other requested resources receive the technical information needed for those requests. Embedded services and external destinations are described in Section 6.

A legal requirement, such as a valid court order, may require disclosure of information. Applicable law may also permit disclosures in connection with legal claims or protection of rights and safety.

If you have a question about whether a particular disclosure constitutes a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising under the law applicable to you, or wish to exercise an applicable opt-out right, contact support@telakus.com. Those legal terms can cover more than an exchange of information for money.

6. Embedded and external services

  • Forms. The subscription form is embedded from mc-crm-2.lovable.app. The partner application loads a form script and configuration from that same domain. Opening these forms connects your browser to that service; submitting them sends the entered information to the form service.
  • Fonts. Telakus pages load fonts from Google's font services at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Your browser connects to those services when requesting the fonts.
  • Scheduling and linked content. Links may take you to Cal.com, RetailCrime.ai, social platforms, media services, or other external destinations. Their own privacy notices apply to information they collect.
  • Contact cards. The Telakus contact cards generate QR codes and downloadable contact files in your browser. Choosing a share or copy action uses your browser or device's sharing or clipboard features. Following an email, telephone, or calendar link opens the corresponding service.

Telakus's privacy policy cannot determine or override the independent practices of an external service.

7. Retention and security

Retention depends on the information, the service handling it, and any applicable legal obligations. This policy does not specify a uniform retention period for all Telakus hubs or promise that every external service deletes information on the same schedule. Contact us to ask about the retention of your information or to request deletion. Legal obligations and exceptions under applicable law may affect whether information can be deleted.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. This policy does not make claims about specific encryption standards, security certifications, or the safeguards of external services. If you believe your personal information has been exposed through a Telakus service, contact us without sending sensitive information in your initial message.

8. International visitors

Online services can involve processing outside the country where you live. The locations and arrangements depend on the service involved. This policy does not promise that information stays in a particular country. If you need information about a service's processing locations or applicable transfer safeguards, contact us and identify the service.

Where European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other laws require a lawful basis for processing, that basis depends on the specific activity. Consent, steps requested before entering a contract or performance of a contract, legitimate interests subject to the required balancing of rights, and legal obligations are potential bases under applicable law; they are not interchangeable permission to use information for any purpose. You can contact us about the basis applicable to your interaction.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to:

  • Know about or obtain access to personal information relating to you.
  • Correct inaccurate information or request deletion.
  • Receive a portable copy of information where the law provides that right.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing.
  • Opt out of qualifying sales, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising, and limit certain uses of sensitive information where applicable.
  • Use an authorized agent, appeal a denied request where that right applies, or complain to a relevant privacy regulator.
  • Exercise applicable rights without unlawful discrimination.

Send requests to support@telakus.com. Describe the request and identify the hub or service and the email address used there. Identity verification may be necessary before information can be disclosed or changed; do not send identity documents unless requested through an appropriate process. Applicable exceptions and response deadlines depend on the law governing your request.

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, where it applies. EEA and UK residents may have rights under their respective data protection laws where they apply. These references do not assert that every law applies to every Telakus service or visitor.

10. Communications and browser choices

To stop subscription communications, use an unsubscribe option provided in the communication or contact support@telakus.com and identify the subscription. You can also contact us to withdraw consent for communications. A marketing opt-out does not necessarily prevent a response to an inquiry you initiate or a communication required by law.

Your browser may let you block or delete cookies, restrict third-party content, or enable privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control. Blocking external content can prevent fonts or forms from loading. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are different browser signals; this policy does not claim that every embedded service recognizes either signal. Where applicable law requires an opt-out preference signal to be honored, that legal requirement applies.

11. Children and younger visitors

Telakus does not impose a blanket 18-and-over restriction through this policy. Individual hubs or services may set their own audience or age requirements. The availability of educational content does not by itself authorize collection of a child's personal information or replace parental consent where required by law.

If you are a parent or guardian concerned that a child has provided personal information to a Telakus service, contact support@telakus.com with the service name and your concern. Do not include additional sensitive information about the child in the initial message.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Telakus and its hubs develop. The date above identifies the latest revision. New services and changed practices should be read together with any notice provided at the point of collection. Any additional notice or consent required by applicable law remains required; an update to this page does not replace it.

13. Contact Telakus

For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, contact Telakus Inc. at support@telakus.com. Include the hub or service involved so your request can be directed appropriately.
